Keysight Technologies InfiniiVision HD3 Oscilloscopes

Keysight Technologies InfiniiVision HD3 Oscilloscopes enable designers to perform digital debugging using a portable oscilloscope with a custom application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC). These HD3 oscilloscopes deliver four times more vertical resolution and half the injected noise of other general-purpose oscilloscopes. Engineers can troubleshoot designs and ensure product quality by debugging with an oscilloscope that sees the small signals beyond the noise to find the slightest and most infrequent signal glitches. Users can capture longer time spans at full sample rate with 100Mpts of deep memory, as well as characterize signals, hunt for errors, and save automatically with Keysight Fault Hunter. Ideal applications for Keysight InfiniiVision HD3 Oscilloscopes include healthcare, automotive, general embedded designs, and power.

14-Bit ADC for 4x Resolution

Chart - Keysight Technologies InfiniiVision HD3 Oscilloscopes

The ADC is an essential part of achieving high vertical accuracy, and a higher number of ADC bits represents more vertical resolution, which translates to more accurate signal representation. For example, an oscilloscope with a 12-bit ADC encodes an analog input into 4096 unique levels of conversion (212 = 4096), and each additional bit doubles the number of levels of conversion. Oscilloscopes with a 14-bit ADC encode the analog input into 16,384 levels (214 = 16,384), which is 64 times the resolution of an 8-bit ADC and four times the resolution of oscilloscopes with a 12-bit ADC.

Low Noise

All electronic devices, including oscilloscopes, generate noise at some level, and the goal is to minimize the noise as much as possible. A lower noise floor means the oscilloscope has less impact on the signal, and this results in more accurate measurements. The Keysight InfiniiVision HD3 offers a 50µVRMS noise floor at full 1GHz bandwidth. Users can decrease the noise even further with bandwidth limiting and waveform averaging options on the HD3.

Advanced Analysis

Designers can automate complex measurements with advanced software capabilities:
Convert time-domain signals into frequency-domain signals using FFT
       •   Compare signals to pre-defined templates for quick pass / fail analysis with mask testing
Analyze statistical distribution of jitter and noise with waveform and measurement histograms
       •   Perform frequency response analysis with Bode plots
       •   Isolate signals in seconds with zone triggering — simply draw a box on the screen
Characterize signals, hunt for errors, and save them automatically with Fault Hunter

7-in-1 Instrument

The HD3 is more than an oscilloscope. The devices also help save bench space, offering more capabilities in the same footprint via additional instrument integration:
       •   Oscilloscopes with 2 or 4 analog channels
Mixed-signal oscilloscope (MSO) to add 16 digital channels
       •   Protocol analyzer
       •   Frequency response analyzer
       •   100MHz arbitrary waveform generator
          3-digit digital voltmeter
       •   8-digit counter with totalizer

Probes for Every Application

Probes come standard with HD3 oscilloscopes, including the Keysight N2843A passive probe with a 10:1 attenuation ratio, 500MHz bandwidth, and a high input resistance of 10MΩ (standard one per channel). The HD3 also comes standard with MSO capability, and if a user already has one of Keysight's 16-digital channel MSO cables, simply plug it in. For additional functionality, Keysight offers a comprehensive range of voltage, current, and optical probing solutions for oscilloscopes.
