
Broadcom AEDR-9920 3-Channel Reflective Optical Encoders
Broadcom AEDR-9920 3-Channel Reflective Optical Encoders offer selectable and programmable options including three-channel digital differential A, B, and I output. The digital output option includes two-channel quadrature (AB) digital outputs for direction sensing and a third channel index digital output. These encoders feature built-in pin-selectable interpolator for 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x, 64x, 128x, and 256x interpolation and SPI programmable interpolator from 1x to 512x. The AEDR-9920 encoders also feature built-in LED current regulation and a high encoding resolution of 225LPI (lines/inch) or 8.86LPmm (lines/mm). These encoders are TTL compatible that allows the outputs to be interfaced with most of the signal processing circuitries.The AEDR-9920 encoders contain the LED light source and a photo-detecting circuitry in a 4mm x 4mm x 1.05mm surface-mount leadless package. These encoders operate within -40°C to 115°C temperature range. Typical applications include closed-loop stepper motors, industrial printers, robotics, card readers, Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) cameras, and optometric equipment.
