Analog Devices Inc. MAX22191 Digital Isolator is an IEC 61131-2 compliant industrial Digital Input (DI) device that converts a 24V digital input to a 2.4mA current. This digital isolator drives the current for the optical isolators. The voltage thresholds and current levels in MAX22191 comply with Type 1 and Type 3 inputs that minimize power dissipation. This isolator is parasitically powered as the operating power is derived from the input signal eliminating the need for any external field-side power supply. ADI MAX22191 isolator consists of a CMOS-compatible test input for safety diagnostics. This digital isolator acquires robust functionality and integrated thermal shutdown.ADI MAX22191 features 250ns (max) fast response time, reduced heat dissipation, limited current input, and high integration for flexible circuit designs. This isolator is available in a small 6-lead SOT-23 package and operates at -40°C to 125°C ambient temperature range. The MAX22191 isolator applications include industrial automation, process automation, motor controls, individually isolated inputs, and current sourcing inputs.
