KEMET Sensor Components

KEMET Sensors include a comprehensive lineup of current, thermal, and proximity detection sensors. Current sensors measure the amount of current flowing in a circuit and are available as low- or high-alternating current transformers, zero-phase transformers, and direct/pulse current sensors.

Thermal sensors or temperature-sensing switches can be used to make or break an electrical connection when the defined threshold temperature is reached. These devices feature a magnet and Thermo-Rite, a temperature-sensing soft ferromagnetic substance. The sensors offer quick response times and an extended operational lifetime while providing stability against moisture and hazardous gas.

Proximity sensors detect human presence and use a pyroelectric principle of operation that generates a voltage when exposed to infrared radiation due to a temperature change. These sensors can also detect infrared rays without using lenses, resulting in a low profile, and can be concealed behind certain materials.
