MLCCs are monolithic devices that consist of laminated layers of specially formulated ceramic dielectric materials interspersed with a metal electrode system. The layered formation is then fired at a high temperature to produce a sintered and volumetrically efficient capacitance device. A conductive termination barrier system is integrated into the exposed ends of the chip to complete the connection.

These MLCCs are available in C0G, U2J, X7R, X5R, Y5V, and Z5U dielectrics with capacitance values up to 100uF and case sizes ranging from EIA 0201 to 2225. These capacitors are Lead (Pb)-free, RoHS, and REACH compliant without exemption.
X7R Commercial Grade SMD ≤250V MLCCs
KEMET X7R Commercial Grade SMD ≤250V MLCCs are a family of Class II ceramic chip capacitors used for bypass and decoupling applications. These dielectrics are also suitable for frequency-discriminating circuits where Q and stability of capacitance characteristics are not critical. The temperature-stable X7R series can operate between -55°C and +125°C, a range within which capacitance change is limited to ±15%. These lead-free KEMET MLCCs are offered in 11 case sizes, with models ranging from a 6.3VDC to 250VDC voltage range and 10pF to 47µF capacitance range.
